CANON HISTORY: http://jojo.wikia.com/wiki/Jotaro_Kujo/HistoryCANON PERSONALITY: Jotaro is a quiet individual, often preferring to sink into the background of a conversation and listen for a chance to add his input rather than leading. Many people would likely describe Jotaro as cold or even callous, even referring to his own mother who openly cherishes him as a "bitch," and brushing off the girls at school who cling to and harass him.
He doesn't easily express his emotions, instead assuming anyone can tell how he feels and thus doesn't need to. To those he’s close to, they become more able to understand him as time goes on, but to strangers Jotaro is often an enigma.
When he’s first introduced, he’s being held in a jail cell of his own violation, believing he’s being possessed by an evil spirit and afraid of being a danger to others. To demonstrate his demon, he attempts to shoot himself in the head, when the bullet is stopped by a hand reaching out and grabbing it. He refuses to exit his cell until Joseph and Abdul trick him into stepping out after engaging in combat, drawing out the “demon,” which turns out to be an inherent power Jotaro and few others have, known as a stand.
He has been seen to not hold honor in high regard, having no qualms about cheating against the second D'arby brother with Joseph. Despite this, around his family and those he considers his friends, Jotaro is shown to be incredibly loyal, and occasionally willing to offer a slightly more gentle side to himself. His whole reason for setting off for Egypt was to save his mother who was slowly dying due to Dio's curse on her stand, causing it to attack her own body. He is willing to go above and beyond if it's for the sake of his loved ones, or even just for those he believes are worthy of another chance, such as when he risked his own life to remove the bud from Kakyoin in their first meeting, freeing him from Dio's control, when he could have just as easily left Kakyoin to die.
In his showdown against Dio, Jotaro is shown to have been pushed far enough to lose his cool by watching Dio desecrate his grandfather’s corpse, even after being warned not to be consumed by anger.
During Jotaro’s time with the crusaders, he’s been shown to have a whole other side to show to friends. When they pick up a little runaway girl, Jotaro is incredibly protective of her from enemy stand users, as well as in the downtime making time to ensure she is well taken care of. He and (a fake) Kakyoin travel around town together, going to a park and picking up ice cream for her.
Not only does he have a softer side, but a goofier side as well, allegedly showing Polnareff on more than one occasion very bizarre cigarette tricks. His sense of humor can be a bit dark, and often takes place at the expense of others, but is never intended cruelly.
When it comes to his enemies Jotaro can be quite ruthless, beating several to a pulp. Most notably would be Steely Dan, who used his stand to hold Joseph hostage while demanding Jotaro do humiliating tasks, such as using him as a human bridge, as well as forcing him to steal valuable jewelry. Jotaro took the abuse with a calm and level head, expressing excitement for the moment he could finally get revenge. Once the opportunity came and Steely Dan attempted to take advantage of his insincere offer of mercy, Jotaro beat him thoroughly and mercilessly.
He also has a penchant for witty one liners, and doing things that look “cool,” such as keeping a receipt of things Steely Dan does that Jotaro will “pay him back” for, and tossing it behind him after pummelling him. Also notable is when Jotaro claims the only reason he defeated Dio was because “he pissed him off.”
He's quite interested in marine life, once being shown reading a magazine on marine biology, and later in life pursuing that as a career. When Josuke fails to express anger in some teenagers hurting an innocent turtle, Jotaro remarks in irritation about it before turning his back. As an adult, he's known as renowned marine biologist Professor Kujo.
Later in his life, Jotaro gets married and has a daughter with an unnamed wife. The marriage is shown to have fallen apart, and that Jotaro had quite a distant relationship with his daughter due to being too wrapped up in his work. Nonetheless, ultimately Jotaro’s love for his daughter and desire to protect her is what leads to his death at the age of 40 in the battle against Pucci.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: He has a special ability known as a stand, which is the manifestation of the spirit. Jotaro's is called Star Platinum, and he specializes in quick, precision movements, and boasts powerful close range offense. Star Platinum later also unlocks the ability to stop time for roughly 5 seconds, in which Jotaro and Star Platinum can move freely in this closed space. Only fellow stand users can see stands.
Otherwise, Jotaro is also shown to be highly intelligent and deductive, as well as specializing in keeping cool under pressure, and an unbreakable poker face.
CHARACTER: AU SECTIONAU NAME: Jotaro Kujo
AU AGE: 19

AU HISTORY: Jotaro spent most of his life in Japan, living alone with his mother. His father was a famous jazz musician and was never around for his mother or for him, and when he was home he was very distant to Jotaro, never making a lasting impression. While Jotaro never quite hated him, his thoughts about his father rarely went beyond the superficial.
His childhood was relatively normal, in his early school career he was a happy, outgoing child, a model student who easily made friends and openly adored his mother.
In early high school, due to anger regarding his father's prolonged absence and watching his mother excuse for him, he went through a delinquent phase, picking up smoking and beginning to cause problems with other students and even the teachers at school. His mother often wondered what she had done wrong, but always held onto believing Jotaro cared for her in his own distant way. Kids at school often regarded Jotaro as being cool and sought his attention, which he shunned, expressing only to be left alone.
When Jotaro’s mother suggested a vacation to the beach to bond, he discovered he had a fondness for marine life and ecology. He started picking up books and doing research on his own, and buckled back down on his studies with a renewed interest in academia.
After graduation, he and his mother moved to Recollé where he wishes to enroll in college to pursue a career in marine biology.
His relationship with his mother is much healthier and she’s come to understand Jotaro’s need for distance without worrying so much, and Jotaro as well makes attempts to express his appreciation for her.
Though he remains as socially isolated as ever, he also feels ready and willing to make a fresh start and a new life far away from Japan.
AU PERSONALITY: Since Jotaro never experienced the trip to Egypt, he's a bit more socially isolated, having never developed relationships with others that felt more than superficial. He's quick to brush others off and prefers to be alone rather than forcing himself to humor others.
Jotaro is very perceptive to people with ulterior motives, bordering on paranoid, often feeling that most people who interact with him tend to only see him for what he can offer to them. Generally he can handle a lot of irritation, but on rare occasions pushing his buttons too far can result in a verbal outburst at best, and punches thrown at worst. Though Jotaro is naturally talented at keeping his cool, he also hasn’t had as many experiences in this life to have hardened him.
As a more normal teenager, he prefers to spend a lot of his time crawling the city, a habit he never quite broke from his delinquent phase. While he’s quite a bit more chilled out and doesn’t as often frequent more shady places, he prefers the quiet calm of exploring the city after dark. He can often be found perusing small knick-knack shops, cafes, any place near a body of water, and libraries.
He left behind one-sided friendships when he moved from Japan, halfheartedly assuring to "stay in touch." Mostly, though Jotaro only socializes with his immediate family, otherwise keeping relationships superficial or professional.
SAMPLE
Stepping off the bus onto the sidewalk, Jotaro took a deep breath, soaking up the salty air spraying up from the shoreline. It had been a while since he'd been able to escape the bottomless pit that was finals study guides and test preparation, or packing their things from his lifetime in Japan long enough to visit the one place that put his mind most at ease. Though the sound of waves lapping at the shore was a favorite ambient noise to relax to (a well guarded secret of Jotaro's), that couldn't at all compare to the real thing.
He scopes out the area, a popular location in town known as Peach Beach. A bit more people than preferable for his liking, he mused, scowling at the bits of litter peppering the area. Stopping only a few times to pick up the most egregious garbage littering the sand he threaded through the other beachgoers until he finds the most unoccupied stretch.
